Key Responsibilities
Provide direct perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties including General, Orthopedic, OB/GYN, Urology, Podiatry, and Dental cases
Support an active OR environment averaging 6–7 cases per day across 5 operating suites and a cystoscopy room
Collaborate with OR technicians, charge nurses, and administrative supervisors to ensure safe and efficient patient care
Participate in weeknight call coverage one night per week and weekend call coverage one weekend per month, with a 20-minute call response time requirement
Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
Participate in a structured orientation program with a preceptor and department educator
Required Qualifications
Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Ability to comply with a drug-free workplace policy, including a negative drug screen for all panels
Ability to participate in weeknight and weekend call rotations with a 20-minute response time
Proficiency or ability to learn Epic EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience
Familiarity with a broad range of surgical specialties including orthopedic, OB/GYN, and urological procedures
Ability to float to PACU or GI as needed
