Join our dedicated team as a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at WCS Healthcare Partners. Located in the vibrant community of Patchogue, NY, this role offers the opportunity to provide critical care to patients in a supportive and collaborative environment. If you are a compassionate and skilled nurse looking to make a difference, this position is for you.Responsibilities Render professional nursing care to patients within the PACU, supporting medical care as directed by medical staff.
Complete clinical documentation and care plans comprehensively and timely for all assigned patients.
Communicate patient information for continuity and safe care through hand offs, walking rounds, and physician/provider interaction.
Perform hourly rounding in collaboration with LNAs on all assigned patients.
Identify and assist in correcting patient care safety issues.
Assist with insertion of Flow wire, Opsens, and IVUS.
Demonstrate contraindications and reversal for IV adenosine infusion.
Safely administer procedural sedation and pass annual sedation examination.
Document sedation according to policies and procedures.
Participate in quality improvement planning and processes for the area of practice.
Provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following established procedures and protocols.
Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve conflicts and issues in a timely manner.
Delegate aspects of care and unit activities to other nursing personnel effectively.
Collaborate in planning, supervising, and instructing other nurses and assistants.
Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care.
Current New Hampshire RN license required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
Basic Dysrhythmia and NHISS certification preferred or obtained prior to completion of orientation.
Graduate of an approved Nursing program preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
