Join our team as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a leading acute-care hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on teamwork and patient care.

n Beds: 28n
Average census: 26n
Minimum Years of Experience required: 1 year of experience in Cardiologyn
First-time travelers are welcome!n
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
n Cardiac PCU – Acute Coronary Syndrome, Heart failure, NSTEMI/STEMI, Chest Pain r/o, post cardiac cath (PCI or without stent), post EP procedures – pacemaker insertion, ICD, ablation; Arrhythmia management, Vascular – Peripheral Artery Disease, AAA Repair, DVT/PEn
Patient Ratios:
n RN: 1:4-5n
CNA: 1:11-14n
Required Licensure & Certifications:
n BLS, ACLS, NIHSSn
Skills Required:
n Cardiac rhythm interpretation; Cardiac post-procedural experiencen
Comfortable titrating gtts – Argatroban, Digoxin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine, Dofetilde, Dopamine, Esmolol, Lasix, Insulin, Labetalol, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Nicardipine, Nitroglycerine, Sotalol, Tirofibann
Support within the Department:
n CNA: Supports the RN by obtaining vital signs and blood glucose checks; assists with hourly safety rounds and ADLsn
Receptionist/HUCn
Charge nurse: may or may not have patient assignmentn
Phlebotomy: Yes, peripheral blood drawsn
No IV/VAT teamn
RT 24/7: Yes, available – will need to page for assistance when neededn
Hospitalist 24/7n
Intensivist 24/7n
Telemetry monitoring/tech - nurses responsible for monitoring/verifying strips - once a shiftn
