Position Overview
nWe are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) for a fast-paced environment focused on delivering high-quality care to post-operative open heart and other cardio thoracic surgical patients. This role requires the ability to manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring in a 29-bed progressive care unit.
Key Responsibilities
n Provide comprehensive nursing care for post-operative patients, including cardiac monitoring and support.
Assist in the management, insertion, and removal of chest tubes.
Administer and manage central lines, including internal and external pacemakers and wound vacuums.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Float to different units as necessary while maintaining care standards.
n Qualifications
n Minimum of 2 years of experience in a progressive care unit or similar setting.
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Demonstrated experience in chest tube management, central line procedures, and wound care.
Ability to maintain a patient ratio of 4:1.
Willingness to work night shifts with a commitment to every other weekend.
Must possess a valid RN license in the state of West Virginia.
n Work Schedule
nThis position is available for night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with options for 3x12 or 4x12-hour contracts. Orientation sessions are held bi-weekly on Thursdays.
Additional Information
n Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
