Wellspring Nurse Source is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Roanoke, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/09/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Neuro PCU Scheduling Details Shift Hours: 3x12-hour shifts, nights from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM Charting: EPIC experience required Weekend Requirement: May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday within a 13-week contract First-Time Travelers: Accepted Local Candidates: Accepted under radius rule criteria Pending License: Accepted, if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state Required Certifications ACLS BLS NIHSS Required Clinical Skills Cardiac monitoring and emergency response (dysrhythmia interpretation and management, Rapid Response/Code teams) IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care Medication administration, including cardiac drips (no titration) Respiratory support (nasal cannula, O2 administration, non-invasive airway management) Rapid Response; Isolation precautions Unit Details Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 Patient Population: Adult patients with neurological conditions, including continuous 24-hour epilepsy monitoring Care includes neurosurgical recovery, stroke management, neuro-specific diagnoses, and medical overflow Floating: Required to float to units within the clinical skillset About the Facility This facility is a 703-bed acute care teaching hospital that serves as the region’s only Level I Trauma Center. It is Magnet-designated for nursing excellence and features advanced specialty care, including a dedicated children’s hospital and certification as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center.
