Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Position: Registered Nurse – PCU
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week
Contract: 13 weeks
Start: Any Monday
Experience: 2 years of PCU experience
License: RN License – Compact accepted
Certifications: ACLS-AHA, BLS-AHA
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Patient Ratio: 1:4–1:5
Unit: 24-bed monitored flex unit (Intermediate/General)
Local Rule: 80-mile local radius
Floating: VI required
Scheduling: Self-scheduling
Required Clinical Skills
Strong cardiac experience
IV insertion/start
Arterial and central line management
Dubhoff/NGT placement and management
J-tube/PEG/chest tube management
Pacemaker management
PCA and epidural management
Peripheral and arterial lab draws
Various IV drips, including cardiac, Lasix, insulin, heparin, and antihypertensive drips
TEE and cardioversion support
Chest tube placement and thoracentesis support
Patient Population
Primarily post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular patients requiring intermediate-level care and continuous monitoring.
