Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend, including holiday rotation
Floating: May float to ED for inpatient holds
Position Summary
Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pediatrics B4 Hematology/Oncology unit.
The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to pediatric patients with hematology and oncology conditions.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pediatric environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric Hematology/Oncology patients.
Perform patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment implementation.
Monitor and evaluate patient progress and respond to clinical changes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
Float to Emergency Department (ED) for inpatient holds as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 24 months of Pediatric and/or Oncology nursing experience (Required)
Active Iowa (IA) RN license or Compact/Multistate license at time of submission (Required)
AHA or ARC BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification (Required)
AHA PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Certification (Required)
APHON (Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses) Certification (Required)
Skills Checklist specific to Pediatrics and/or Oncology (Required)
Certifications & Licensure
APHON Certification
PALS (AHA)
BLS (AHA)
Active Iowa RN License (Compact License Accepted)
