Required Qualifications
BSNBLSPALSMinimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experienceInpatient pediatric academic medical-center experience strongly preferredHigh-flow nasal cannula experienceChest-tube management experiencePrevious travel experience—first-time travelers are not acceptedPreferred Experience
Preferred Experience
Heated high‑flow nasal cannula managementCare of pediatric patients with bronchiolitisPediatric behavioral‑health experienceNeonatology experience
Patient Population
Gastrointestinal disordersEndocrine disordersBariatric and nutritional‑restoration patientsInfections, including sepsisLimited postoperative and post‑procedure careChest‑tube patientsLong‑term behavioral‑health patientsAverage length of stay: approximately four days
Floating Requirements
Travelers may float to:Pediatric acute‑care unitsNICUChildren’s Hospital Colorado North and South campusesOther Denver‑area locations within approximately 35 milesFloating or reassignment will remain within the RN’s demonstrated clinical competency and may be used to fulfill guaranteed hours.
Holiday and RTO Requirements
Must be available to work two of the three designated holidaysRTO blackout dates:
November 25–27December 23–26December 30–January 2
Maximum of four total RTO daysNo RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignmentMedical and religious exemptions to the seasonal influenza vaccine may be considered.
