PCU RN – Short Job Description
Unit: PCU (Progressive Care Unit)
Beds: 16 (up to 20 with double occupancy)
Patient Type: High‑acuity cardiac / post‑cath / post‑open heart / telemetry patients
Shift
Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule: 3x12s
Patient Ratio
1:3–4
Required Skills
Minimum 1 year PCU experience
Strong EKG / dysrhythmia interpretation
IV cardiac medication administration
Experience with: Chest tubes
Chronic vents
BiPAP/CPAP
Peritoneal dialysis
Transvenous pacing
Sheath pulls / arterial lines
Required Certifications
BLS
ACLS
Active AZ RN License
Float
MS/Tele required
ICU preferred
Important Note
Must pass dysrhythmia exam (80% within 2 attempts) before signing
