Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Telemetrynn
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Cardiac Telemetry to join our dedicated team. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience on a cardiac floor and proficiency in various cardiac care procedures.
Job Details
n Patient Ratios: Varies per acuity; 1:4 for surgical step down and 1:5-6 for lower acuity.
Shift: Night shifts only, 36 hours per week.
Contract Length: 13-26 weeks accepted.
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekends in a 4-week period (flexible).
Float Requirement: Will follow unit rotation; not first to float.
n Role Responsibilities
n Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with cardiac-related diagnoses.
Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry readings and manage dysrhythmias.
Administer medications and manage cardiac drips, including titration as needed.
Perform sheath removals and assist with post-MI care and pre/post cardiac catheterization.
Provide assistance with airway management, including CPAP/BIPAP and nasal cannula usage.
Participate in special procedures and assist in recovery for cardiac and thoracic surgeries.
n Required Skills and Certifications
n Minimum of 2 years of experience on a cardiac floor.
Traveler experience preferred unless possessing over 24 months of cardiac experience.
Skills in Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, sheath removal, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required.
n Preferred Skills and Certifications
n Experience with arterial line management and wound care, including wound vacs.
Charge experience is a plus.
n Special Procedures and Unit Details
n Common patient diagnoses: Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, and various valve disorders.
Unit focuses on CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, and other vascular surgeries.
n Special Equipment
n Utilize various medical equipment including EKG monitors, Dopplers, and chest tubes.
n Unit Systems
n Familiarity with Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR communication systems is preferred.
n Orientation and Attire
n Orientation period is 24 hours.
Required scrub color: Navy.
