Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical (Telemetry)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) | Onsite | Every other weekend and holidays required | No on-call required | Expected 72 hours biweekly
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care as part of a medical-surgical float pool, supporting up to 15 units across specialties including neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, oncology, transplant (liver and kidney), and vascular
Perform unit-specific procedures including 12-lead EKGs, Lasix drips, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring
Administer nebulizer treatments; respiratory therapists manage ventilators
Maintain inpatient patient ratios averaging 4:1 on days and up to 6:1 on nights
Rotate across shifts combining 8-hour and 12-hour shifts within a 4-week schedule cycle
Document accurately using the Epic electronic health record system
Required Qualifications
Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Minimum 3 years of related nursing experience required
Prior travel nursing experience required
CPR certification (AHA) required
ACLS certification (AHA) required
Level I trauma experience required
Epic EMR experience required
Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate web-based applications

Experience in a teaching hospital setting
Specialty area expertise within medical-surgical nursing
Comfort with float pool assignments and adaptability across multiple unit types
