Job description
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a Home Health position requiring 1-2 years of experience and NBCOT/NM licensure.
Requirements
Current NM OT license required, if applicable
NBCOT certification required
BLS certification required
MOAB certification required (training provided during first week if not already certified, must pass to retain contract)
Minimum 1-2 years of experience
Pending state license accepted
Non-local candidates only, must reside outside 100-mile radius
Responsibilities
Home health setting serving adult and geriatric patients
Caseload of 8-12 assigned patients
5x8 day shift schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
No weekend requirement
No on-call requirement
May float within scope to meet facility needs
No floating to sister facilities
Mileage territory of 35 miles, reimbursed at federal IRS standard mileage rate
Cerner charting system used
Level I Trauma, teaching, children's hospital, short-term acute care facility with 554 staffed beds
Second set of fingerprints required upon arrival for CYFD compliance due to potential presence of children in homes
Skills include ADLs, adaptive equipment, home assessment, wheelchair evaluation, orthopedic rehab, and neurological conditions such as CVA, TBI, and spinal cord injury
COVID vaccine optional but facility reports vaccination numbers; vaccine series or declination form required
First-time travelers accepted
Block scheduling accommodation not guaranteed
RTO requests greater than 7 days require approval
Light blue scrub color required
No parking fee
New contracts and extensions require minimum 10-week commitment
6-month system break required after 1 year or 4 consecutive assignments
12-month separation required for former staff
