Join a leading acute-care hospital as a PCU Registered Nurse in Charleston, WV, specializing in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Step Down. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to work with post-op open heart and other cardiothoracic surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring. We are looking for dedicated RNs to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
n Provide care for patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a focus on post-op open heart and cardiothoracic surgeries.n
Monitor patient conditions and perform necessary interventions.n
Assist with chest tube insertion, management, and removal.n
Manage central lines and external/internal pacemakers.n
Utilize wound vacs as necessary.n
Float within scope to meet facility needs as required.n
Requirements:
n 2 years of experience in a similar role.n
BLS and ACLS certification required.n
Experience with chest tube management and central line insertion.n
Willingness to float as needed and accommodate blocked schedule requests.n
WV RN license in hand for submission.n
COVID-19 vaccine required; medical/religious exemptions considered on a case-by-case basis.n
Must comply with the 100-mile radius rule (75-99 miles can be sent for facility approval).n
Permanent employees cannot return as travelers for 3 years after last date worked.n
Limit holiday RTO requests to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays.n
