American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Charleston, South Carolina.
Assignment Overview
Specialty: OR - Operating Room

Duration: 13 weeks
Hours: 40 hours per week (4×10-hour days)
Shift: Days, 4×10 hours per day (6:30am–5:00pm). Other shift patterns available: 3×12 hours (6:30am–7:00pm) or 4×10 hours (6:30am–5:00pm).

Responsibilities
Work in an ambulatory operating room setting with 9 ORs.
Complete one late week per 4‑week period to wrap up cases.
No weekend or on‑call requirements.
Potential floating within the perioperative facility.
Use Epic EMR (experience preferred).
Preferred specialty experience includes Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, ENT, GYN, GU, Endocrine, and Surgical Oncology.
Requirements
Active SC RN license or compact RN license. Candidates with a pending SC license may be considered.
Current AHA BLS certification.
Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience.
SSN and driver’s license required for background check.
Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years.
Radiation badge required — must be provided by the staffing agency.
First‑time travelers are not accepted.
Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year.
Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility are considered; non‑local candidates are prioritized.
All requested time off must be submitted at consideration; approval based on facility needs.
May be required to precept a care team member in the operating room.
Orientation modules completed prior to start date.
During hurricane season (June–November), all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September.
Compensation
Pay package based on 10‑hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
