Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse position is available in an acute care setting within a healthcare organization. The role involves providing perioperative patient care across various surgical specialties, including OB/GYN, general surgery, orthopedics, urology, plastics, ENT, ophthalmology, and podiatry. The selected candidate will support multiple operating rooms, assist with about 5,000 procedures annually, and ensure adherence to established clinical protocols. The assignment begins in early October and is initially scheduled until mid-January, with flexibility based on start date.
Job Details
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10-hour shifts, with one day off during the week. Call approximately four times monthly with potential to cover weekends.
Required Qualifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; minimum of 2 years of perioperative nursing experience; valid licensure with no disciplinary history on license; robotics experience, with DaVinci preferred. Must be within 30 minutes of the hospital for call response.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with MEDITECH electronic charting system; background in multiple surgical specialties including OB/GYN, general, orthopedics, urology, plastics, ENT, ophthalmology, and podiatry.
Additional Information: The position requires flexibility in schedule, availability for holiday coverage, and the ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment with multiple concurrent procedures. Candidates must have some availability during holidays and be prepared for about four call shifts per month. The assignment duration is approximately 13 weeks, but may vary based on start date. No disciplinary issues on licensure are accepted.
