American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in San Francisco, California. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/17/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 5x8hrs Hours: 40 hrs/wk Start Date: Nov 17, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN for a day shift assignment requiring Phase I PACU, cath lab recovery, and prior teaching hospital experience. Details Work in the PACU unit of a hospital setting 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with variable start times between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM Call availability required Flexibility to orient and work at multiple UCSF Medical Center locations Floating from pre-op to PACU required May be reassigned to different departments, units, or facilities within a 75 mile radius as needed Requirements Active CA RN license required at time of submission BSN required Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS Minimum 3 years of experience required Phase I PACU experience required Inpatient experience required Cath lab recovery experience required Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history Prior travel assignment experience within the last 12 months required 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration Additional Information Provide post-anesthesia care including cardiac monitoring, arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition, and IV therapy Administer medications including vasopressors, narcotics, and reversal agents Manage central lines and blood product administration Care for patients recovering from various anesthesia types including general, spinal, MAC, and nerve blocks Support surgical specialties including bariatrics, ENT, neuro, ortho, cardiovascular, and urology cases Proof of COVID vaccination and booster required, or proof of scheduled booster appointment prior to start date Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with full employment history for rehire eligibility review RTO must be disclosed and approved at time of offer; no additional requests accepted mid-contract RTO cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment American Traveler Job ID P- .
