American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in San Francisco, California. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/17/2026 Duration: 16 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 5x8hrs Hours: 40 hrs/wk Start Date: Nov 17, 2026 Length: 16 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN with cath lab recovery experience and a CA RN license for a day-shift assignment at a teaching hospital. Details PACU unit with day shift schedule (5x8 hours, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM) Provides Phase I and Phase II recovery care as well as pre/post operative care Handles pre/post cath lab procedures and pre/post operative procedures Supports surgery cases including general, ophthalmology, ortho, ortho/spine, ortho/total joints, and podiatry Cares for patients receiving various anesthesia types including conscious sedation, general, local, MAC, nerve blocks, and spinal Performs circulation checks and supports orthopedic procedures such as open reduction/internal fixation and total joint replacement Required to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75 mile radius based on job specifications Requirements Active CA RN license required BSN required Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications Minimum 3 years of PACU experience required Cath lab recovery experience required Phase I PACU and Phase II recovery experience required Pre/post operative experience required Circulating and scrubbing experience required Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history Prior travel assignment experience within the last 12 months required Epic charting experience preferred Ambulatory/outpatient experience preferred Previous charge experience preferred Respiratory and airway assessment skills required Proof of COVID vaccination and booster required, or proof of scheduled booster appointment prior to start date Two professional references from most recent employer required for consideration Additional Information Provide comprehensive pre- and post-anesthesia recovery care across Phase I and Phase II PACU settings Deliver discharge instructions and post-operative patient education May be reassigned to different departments, units, or facilities within a 75 mile radius if qualified for the role Candidates with prior University of California employment must disclose dates worked, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as traveling candidates All RTO must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract RTO is not permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment American Traveler Job ID P- .
