Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a Position Care Unit (PCU). This is a fast-paced environment that requires exceptional patient care skills and a focus on teamwork.
Unit Information Unit Type: Stepdown
Number of Beds: 22
Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4
Common Diagnoses Heart failure
Atrial fibrillation (Afib)
Respiratory distress
Stroke
Duties and Responsibilities Titrate drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Nitro.
Read and interpret telemetry strips independently.
Work collaboratively with a charge nurse who maintains a patient assignment.
Assist with the management of respiratory equipment such as CPAP.
Support patient care techs, with a ratio of 1:10.
Float to ICU if appropriate and as per experience.
Shift Information Shift Length: 12 hours
Shift Type: Nights
Scheduling: Cyclic scheduling, with options for self-scheduling. Weekend requirements include every other weekend.
Holiday Requirements: 1 major and 1 minor holiday.
Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a clinical setting.
Required Certifications: ACLS
BLS Certification
NIHSS
Additional Notes: Must adhere to fingernail policy; artificial nails are prohibited. A positive attitude and a patient-oriented approach are essential for success in this role.
Orientation One 12-hour shift of department-specific orientation will be provided.
