American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Columbia, Missouri. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/09/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Nov 9, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric ICU position requiring 2 years of PICU experience, PALS and BLS certification, and a MO or compact RN license. Details General Pediatric ICU setting within a teaching hospital Patient ratio of 1:2-3 Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30) Blocked schedule options available (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon) Cerner charting system preferred Mandatory floating required, including as a Patient Observer (sitter) to other units within the organization 36 or 48 hour contracts available Requirements Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration BLS and PALS certifications required TNCC certification appreciated but not required Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred Previous charge experience preferred Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood/blood products Skilled in arterial line management, central line care, and PICC line management Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and administration of emergency medications/antiarrhythmics/IV vasopressors Respiratory skills including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs Additional Information Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in a general PICU setting Participate in care of ventilated and acutely ill pediatric patients requiring advanced respiratory and cardiovascular monitoring Facility operates 24/7/365, requiring flexibility for rotating shifts, call, and inclement weather coverage Holiday coverage required for at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract Weekend work required as assigned First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates accepted; those residing 51-75 miles away may be offered a reduced local rate, while those within 50 miles are not eligible Maximum RTO of 10 days, with none permitted during the first week due to orientation Re-orientation not required for returning travelers within 18 months American Traveler Job ID P- .
