American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Pediatrics for a travel nursing job in Columbia, Missouri. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Pediatrics Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/09/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Nov 9, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN for a night shift contract requiring PALS certification and 2 years of experience, with a MO or compact RN license required. Details Pediatrics unit within a hospital setting Patient ratio of 1:4-5 Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) 36 or 48 hour contracts available Cerner charting system preferred but not required Mandatory floating required, including coverage as a Patient Observer (sitter) anywhere in the organization Rotating shifts, holidays, and inclement weather coverage required Call and weekend shifts required as part of contract terms Requirements Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration PALS certification required Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred Previous charge experience preferred Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, pediatric dosage calculations, and administration of medications required Experience with central/peripheral line care, TPN/lipids, and anti-seizure medications preferred Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen delivery, and tracheostomy care preferred Experience with NG tube insertion/management and feeding support (bottle, breast, gavage) required Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring preferred Experience monitoring chemotherapy and managing oncology patients preferred Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs with or without accommodation Additional Information Provide direct patient care in pediatric MedSurg, pediatric oncology, and pediatric step-down settings Work in a 24/7 healthcare facility with exposure to contagious illnesses Holiday coverage required for at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract Maximum RTO of 10 days, with none allowed during the first week due to orientation First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates accepted, though those within 50 miles are not eligible and those 51-74 miles qualify for local rate Travelers can extend up to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts (or 9 months) before requiring a mandatory 6-month break before returning to this health system Orientation modules completed during onboarding and annually, averaging 4-6 hours American Traveler Job ID P- .
