Location Asheville, NC Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule/Shift Night Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM Job Description The Mother Baby Unit at Mission Hospital is a 34-bed unit that features private couplet rooms, where mothers and their newborns stay together. The unit supports a skilled team of 78 staff members. Nurses in this unit provide care to couples, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for both mothers and their babies. The hospital is recognized as a leading healthcare provider and offers access to advanced equipment including Alaris pumps and bilirubin blankets/lights, as well as utilizing the Cerner electronic medical record system. Responsibilities Provide care for mothers and their newborns, including education on post-delivery recovery. Perform circumcisions as needed. Monitor patients on Magnesium Sulfate post-delivery. Maintain a patient ratio of 1:3-4 couplets during shifts. Required Experience Mother Baby nursing experience is required. Must possess STABLE certification. Certifications/Licensure Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
