Description
American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN for a step-down telemetry unit, requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certification.
Details
Step-down unit from ICU with 26 private-room beds
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-5:1
All patients are on telemetry with heart monitors and may have critical drips
Patient population ranges from GI bleed to COVID or respiratory distress cases
3x12 day shift schedule, 7a-7p
Weekend and holiday rotation required
Requirements
Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
BLS and ACLS certification required
ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
No prior experience required but previous nursing experience preferred
Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
Additional Information
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement individualized plans of care
Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching
Delegate and oversee care tasks performed by other team members
Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures tracking
Provide patient and family-centered education throughout treatment
