Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for a Long Term Care assignment in Houston, TX, requiring 1+ years of PTA experience in an LTC or rehab setting.
Details
Skilled nursing community specializing in long-term and post-acute care
Physical Therapy unit providing skilled nursing care, inpatient rehabilitation, and memory care services
Day shift schedule, 8-hour shifts, 35 guaranteed weekly hours
No weekend requirements
No on-call requirements
Compact license accepted
Requirements
PTA license required if applicable
Minimum 1 year of PTA experience required
LTC or Rehab setting experience required
One reference required for consideration
Additional Information
Provide rehabilitative and skilled treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under PT supervision
Administer manual techniques, ambulation training, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive/assistive devices
Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising PT to adjust treatment plans
Document all treatment information in the electronic documentation system per regulatory requirements
Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings
Provide consultation to patients, families, and caregivers regarding physical disorders
May supervise and support PTA students under PT guidance
Adherence to APTA and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics required
No more than 7 days of RTO may be requested
