Overview
American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Assignment details are below.
Responsibilities
Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Openings: 1
Floating to other units and hospitals as needed
Interdisciplinary team involvement with family practice physicians, hospitalists, and surgical specialists
Patient population includes trauma, orthopedic, and urology patients (Med/Surg Telemetry Trauma unit)
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
Qualifications
Active AL or compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed
AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
Associate degree in nursing or higher required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience; candidates with 18 months may be considered
At least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or related specialty required
NURSYS license verification required
Current driver's license required for consideration
Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

Provides individualized care to trauma, surgical, orthopedic, and urology patients in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
Scrub color requirement: solid navy
No HealthStream modules required prior to start — competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation
Candidates with a cardiac background should be prepared for a cardiac competency exam upon offer acceptance
Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
Timekeeping system: Centricity
Parking is available on-site
