Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit with a minimum of 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and a mandatory EKG exam requirement during onboarding.
Details
Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit within an acute care hospital setting
Patient population includes general medical/surgical, observation, respiratory, palliative/end‑of‑life/hospice, psychiatric observation, and diabetic patients
Unit is tele‑capable; all RNs are required to pass an EKG exam regardless of specialty
Epic EMR — experience is mandatory
Schedule: nights, 3x12‑hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Every other weekend required; holiday coverage as needed
Floating across facilities may be required for all travelers
13‑week contract
Requirements
Active NC or Compact RN license required
Current BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Epic EMR experience is mandatory
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Copy of driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
All RNs must pass a pass/fail EKG exam during onboarding — two attempts are allowed; candidates should prepare in advance as study materials are not provided by the facility
Prior Charge RN experience is preferred
Zero‑tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
