Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position requiring adult and pediatric critical care experience, with first-time travelers welcome to apply.
Details
13-week contract on the RRT unit
Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Every 3rd weekend required
Holiday rotation required
Provides adult and pediatric critical care respiratory services
Patient ratio of 1:20
Experience in ED, Adult ICU, and Peds general care required, PICU experience preferred
Servo I ventilator experience preferred
Performs airway management, medication administration, vent management, ABGs, O2 therapy, suction, pulmonary toileting, bronchoscopy assist, nebulizer treatments, BiPAP, and CPAP
Travelers may be floated to any facility campus as needed
Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of experience required
NC state license required if applicable
BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required
NRP certification preferred
Trauma Level II experience required, Trauma Level I experience preferred
Teaching hospital experience preferred
Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
Third-party education verification required
No open background check cases permitted
Current driver's license required to verify address
Additional Information
Candidates with minimal pediatric experience will be considered, but adult critical care experience is required
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Care for patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, pneumonia, and fresh tracheostomy, with cystic fibrosis and ECMO experience preferred
Performs ventilator management including troubleshooting high pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation
Skilled in airway management devices, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures including CPAP, intubation assist, and pressure/volume ventilators preferred
RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO accepted
No local candidates permitted within 50 miles of the facility
