Job Summary
nRespiratory Therapist Registered (RRT) located in an outpatient setting, this role involves providing respiratory therapy services and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities. Under the general direction of a physician, the therapist will perform clinical assessments, operate advanced respiratory equipment, and monitor patient responses to therapy to ensure optimal health outcomes.
nJob Details
nnResponsibilities: Read prescriptions, measure arterial blood gases, review patient information to assess condition, determine treatment requirements, and modify therapy as needed.
nEvaluates the appropriateness of medical orders, interprets clinical data, and sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
nMonitors patients physiological responses to therapy, including vital signs and arterial blood gases. Performs bronchopulmonary drainage and assists with breathing exercises. Conducts pulmonary function tests for diagnostic purposes.
nMaintains accurate patient charts containing identification and therapy details.
nAssists in transporting mechanically ventilated patients and responds to all code situations.
nRequired Qualifications: Graduate of a Co ARC (Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) approved Respiratory program, with a minimum of 2 years of experience, valid state license, and certifications including BLS, RTT, and NRP (if required).
nSchedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
nAdditional Information: Responds to all code situations. Performs other duties as assigned. Demonstrates system-wide competencies and behaviors.
