Job Summary:
The Registered Respiratory Therapist will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients in an acute-care hospital setting. The position requires strong current RRT experience, appropriate Massachusetts licensure, and the ability to provide safe, effective respiratory treatments across the patient population served.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy services to hospital patients.
Assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory conditions.
Perform respiratory procedures and therapeutic interventions according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
Monitor patient response to respiratory treatments and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and respiratory-care standards.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Provide age-appropriate respiratory care across applicable patient populations.
Maintain competency through required education and skills assessments.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of current RRT experience
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – REQUIRED
Active Massachusetts RRT License – REQUIRED at submission
Active NBRC credential – REQUIRED
AHA BLS – REQUIRED
CRT candidates will NOT be considered
Must have a current RRT Skills Checklist completed within the past year
1 supervisory signed reference from within the past 2 years of employment
Own vehicle required for the assignment
Permanent address must be included in the submission profile

ACLS
PALS
Schedule
12-Hour Nights | 7:00 PM–7:30 AM | 36 Hours/Week
Every other weekend required.
Holidays may be required based on facility needs.
No call/call-back requirement.
8 hours of non-billable orientation.
Holiday Requirements
Travelers cannot take all holidays off and must work two holiday blocks if scheduled/needed:
Thanksgiving: Thanksgiving Day/Friday after + weekend after
Christmas: Christmas Eve through Christmas Day + weekend after
New Year: New Year’s Eve through New Year’s Day + weekend after

Own vehicle confirmation
All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at submission
Maximum 5 days of RTO accepted
No scheduling/RTO requests will be accepted after submission/offer

Berkshire Health System will not consider travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility. Permanent address must be provided with the submission.
