Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide high-quality respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. The ideal candidate will have recent experience as a licensed RRT, previous ICU and ventilator management experience, and the flexibility to float across adult critical care and intermediate care units.
Responsibilities:
Provide respiratory therapy services, including patient assessment, treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation, and education.
Assist physicians and clinical teams with intubation procedures.
Set up, operate, and manage mechanical ventilators.
Evaluate patient needs and collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop appropriate respiratory care plans.
Educate patients and caregivers about respiratory conditions, treatments, and equipment.
Document treatments, assessments, and patient education accurately.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, patient-centered care.
Float to adult ICU areas, intermediate care, and Basic Intermediate Care units as needed.
Follow departmental policies, procedures, and organizational standards.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of recent experience working as a licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist.
Minimum 1 year of ICU experience.
Previous ventilator experience required.
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Certifications and Licensure
Current New Jersey Respiratory Care License.
Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
BLS – American Heart Association (AHA).
ACLS.
PALS.
Willingness to float to adult ICU, intermediate care, and Basic Intermediate Care units. Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills. Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient needs. Commitment to patient safety, accountability, and high-quality respiratory care.
