Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift acute care position requiring adult, newborn, and ventilator experience.
Details
Acute care hospital setting within a 122-bed facility
Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 6:30pm to 7:00am
Provides respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients
Requires experience with newborns and will attend deliveries
No NICU on site
Experience required with ventilator management and arterial blood gas (ABG) draws
Requirements
Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program
NBRC-RRT or NBRC-CRT credential required
RCP license required if applicable
BLS certification required
NRP certification required at time of hire or within 90 days
ACLS certification required at time of hire or within 90 days
PALS certification required at time of hire or within 90 days
Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required, with recent experience within the last 3 months
Cerner and EPIC experience must be noted in employment history if applicable
Additional Information
Assesses and documents appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapy for patients
Administers aerosol and oxygen therapy while maintaining charts
Draws arterial blood gases per policy and physician order
Provides care to ventilator patients
Assists in training and supervision of new employees as delegated
Documents care given and maintains treatment records for charges and record keeping
Instructs nursing personnel in patient and equipment surveillance after initial installation
Performs drainage procedures and provides additional cardiorespiratory patient care
Offers suggestions regarding patient treatment and pulmonary progress
