Travel Respiratory Therapist - Certified RT/CRT

Job description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring Draeger vent experience and prior travel assignment history.

Job Details

• Short term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds, part of Yale New Haven Health System,

• Level II Trauma Center,

• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM,

• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required,

• Will float between two campus locations as needed,

• Expected to rotate through all hospital units including NICU and Pediatric units, with frequency dependent on census and staffing needs,

• Uses Epic for charting,

• Free parking available,

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required,

• Minimum 1 year of Level III or IV NICU experience required,

• Level 2 Trauma experience required,

• Acute care experience required,

• Teaching hospital experience required,

• Prior travel assignment experience required,

• Draeger vent experience required,

• Epic charting experience required,

• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRT or RRT,

• State license required if applicable,

• CPFT, NRP, and PALS certifications preferred,

• Neonatal oscillating vent and high frequency jet vent experience preferred,

• 1 professional reference required,

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations including NICU and pediatric critical care,

• May be asked to orient students or new hires as needed,

• Perform ventilator management, airway suctioning, ABG interpretation, and pulmonary hygiene procedures,

• Care for patients with conditions such as ARDS, RSV, cystic fibrosis, and respiratory distress syndrome,

• Participate in high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports as needed,

• Local candidates not accepted; candidates within 75 miles of the hospital are considered local,

• Returning staff must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler,

• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted,

• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only,

• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
