Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Level 3 NICU night shift travel assignment requiring NRP certification and prior Level 2 or 3 NICU experience.
Details
36-bed Level 3 NICU at a 422-bed hospital
Unit typically staffed with 2 respiratory therapists per shift covering peak volumes
Uses Drager VN500 ventilators, 3100A Oscillators, Mallinckrodt Nitric Oxide, and Vapotherm equipment
EMR systems used: Meditech and NeoNotes
Night shift hours from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
13-week assignment
Every other weekend and holiday rotation required in accordance with facility policy
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in specialty
Level 3 NICU experience required; candidates with 3-5 years of Level 2 NICU experience will be considered
NRP certification required (Advanced 9th Edition)
ACLS certification required
STABLE certification preferred
Active RRT license and certification required; license required if applicable
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
US SSN and DOB required for consideration
One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)
Additional Information
Attend high-risk deliveries and provide neonatal respiratory support
Manage ventilators using both conventional and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation
Administer surfactant and Nitric Oxide as needed
Perform blood gas acquisition and interpretation
Work independently with strong critical thinking and attention to detail
Grey scrub color designated for Respiratory Therapy staff
50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within this radius are not eligible for this position
