Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a day-shift adult critical care position requiring CA RRT licensure and ventilator management experience.
Details
Provides respiratory care across ER, RRT, Code Blue, medical/surgical floors, and ICU settings for adult patients
Adult critical care and emergency department work settings
Patient ratio of 1:4
Epic charting system experience required
Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
One weekend required per month
No on-call requirements
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience as an Adult RRT required unless otherwise noted
BLS and ACLS certification required
PALS and NRP certification required
CA State RRT Licensure required if applicable
NBRC certification preferred
Prior travel experience preferred
Teaching hospital experience preferred
Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
Experience with arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
Experience caring for patients with ARDS, aspiration, pneumonia, and cystic fibrosis
Experience with medication delivery systems including MDI, nebulizers, and aerosol setups
Additional Information
Perform therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures for patients with respiratory insufficiencies or abnormalities
Assess, treat, and evaluate patients while collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams to implement care plans
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and support groups to build trust and cooperation
First-time travelers will be considered
Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
Local candidates accepted at local rate
50-mile radius rule applies
Candidates must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
