Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift role at a Level I trauma acute care hospital, requiring adult critical care and emergency department experience.
Details
Acute care hospital setting within the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit
Adult critical care and Emergency Department patient populations
Night shift, 4x12 hours )
Every other weekend required
On-call as needed for the department
Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities
Cerner EMR experience required
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of experience required
BLS and RRT certification required
IL license required if applicable
Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department experience required
Experience with endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, nasal and oral airway placement/suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care/management required
Experience with hand held, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizer skills required
Experience with bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, T-piece, trach collar, and venturi mask oxygen therapy required
Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation required
Cerner charting experience required
Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
Additional Information
Level I trauma center and Magnet-designated facility
Any solid color scrubs permitted
First-time travelers accepted
Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction
Previous PERM or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
Ideally no more than 5 days of RTO
Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
Travel pairs not accepted
