Job description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring 2 years of experience and an active MA RN license.
Requirements
Active MA RN license required
Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
BLS required; ACLS preferred
Epic charting experience required
Teaching hospital experience preferred
Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care/management
Experience with telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
Experience with cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, heparin protocols, and PCA management
Experience with pacemakers, pre/post cardiac cath, and pre/post cardiac surgery care
Two professional references required, including at least one Nurse Manager or higher
Responsibilities
Cardiac Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
Patient population includes A-Fib, pacemaker infections, CHF, CAD, Aortic Stenosis, chest pain, NSTEMI, HFrEF, AMS, SIRS, and dementia with behavior disturbance
Patient ratio of 1:3
Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
Every other weekend/every other holiday required
May float to other inpatient telemetry units as needed
Uses Epic for charting
Provide direct patient care within a cardiac telemetry unit, monitoring cardiac rhythms and managing related conditions
Must complete pass/fail medication and telemetry exams during orientation, each allowing only one attempt
Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
Must reside within 200 miles of the facility
Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
12-month separation required for previously employed staff with the health system
Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, though none allowed during the first week
