Job description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a TX or compact license and prior travel nursing experience.
Requirements
Active RN license (TX State or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of recent experience preferred
Prior travel nursing experience required
Epic charting experience preferred
Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
Experience with cardiovascular care, ECMO, and IABP management preferred
Proficient in ventilator management and ABG interpretation
Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure patients
Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE protocols
Responsibilities
Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a hospital setting
Patient ratio of 1:2
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 36 hours per week
Epic charting system used
Provide advanced critical care to post-cardiac surgery and cardiovascular patients
Dark gray scrub color required
Must complete onboarding modules onsite during orientation, typically 4-6 hours for RNs
Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible for consideration
Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
All RTO must be submitted in advance; no more than 3 days will be auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
