Job description
American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a critical access hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications, with first-time travelers welcome.
Requirements
Active WA or Compact RN license required in hand at submission
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (NRP preferred)
Minimum of 1 year of ER experience required
Epic charting experience preferred
Experience with pediatric and adult emergency patient populations
Skills with cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and emergency medication administration
Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
Responsibilities
Work in the Emergency Department of a 23-bed critical access hospital
Patient ratios of 1:5
Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
Rotating weekends required
Floating between units required
No on-call requirements
Charting via Epic
Provide emergency care across general adult and pediatric populations
Manage patients presenting with respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and orthopedic conditions
May assist with procedural sedation, chest tubes, and ventilated patient care
Scrub color is unrestricted for RN/Allied staff
No parking fees at this facility
Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day)
Must reside more than 50 miles away to qualify for travel rate, or local candidates accepted at a lower rate
Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the region
