Job description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ED RN with a current NY RN license and prior travel nursing experience for a night shift contract position.
Requirements
Active NY RN license required
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
MEDITECH experience required
Prior travel nursing experience required
Critical care and charge nurse experience preferred
Must complete lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation and become defibrillation certified within six months of employment
Must be IV, medication, and phlebotomy certified during orientation
Responsibilities
Emergency Department setting within a hospital environment
Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
13-week contract assignment
No on-call responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a fast‑paced Emergency Department, identifying and intervening in life‑threatening situations
Assess patients' clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs
Recognize safety concerns and properly use lifts to move patients safely
May be required to assume charge nurse duties
Strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills required
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required
Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for consideration
Submission must include 2 references from a Charge RN, Supervisor, or Manager from within the past year and relevant specialty
