Job description
American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN with Mental Health Suite experience to join a Level 4 trauma teaching hospital, requiring MN RN licensure and at least 1 year of ER experience.
Requirements
Active or pending MN RN license required
Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
Experience in general emergency department care for combined adult/pediatric populations required
Cardiac monitoring experience including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including starting and maintaining IVs required
Must provide date of birth, SSN, copy of certifications, Nursys verification, and RTO at time of consideration
At least one supervisor reference required for consideration
Minnesota-specific fingerprinting (LiveScan) required as part of state background check process
Responsibilities
Work in the Emergency Department, specifically the Mental Health Suite
General emergency department setting serving combined adult and pediatric patients
Patient ratios of 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends
Day shift (3x12, 7:00-19:30) or night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:30) schedules available
Weekend rotation required every third weekend
No on-call responsibilities
Floating required to Mercy Hospital - Coon Rapids and within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed
Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system
Provide emergency nursing care within a Mental Health Suite as part of a Level 4 trauma teaching hospital
Navy blue scrubs required
Acute care hospital with 149 staffed beds
Free parking available in any unrestricted space
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Returning staff must have a 3-month gap since their last shift worked as a perm employee (staff or per diem)
RTO ideally should not exceed 5 days
Facility does not accept local candidates; a 100-mile radius restriction applies
Pre-start modules are required and average 8 hours to complete
References are not provided by the facility to travelers post-assignment or to former perm employees
