Job description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring TNCC, ACLS, and BLS certifications.
Requirements
Active RN license (CT or Compact) required, pending license accepted
BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications preferred
2 years of ER experience preferred; will consider 1.5 years from a similar hospital or 1-2 completed travel assignments with 3+ years of experience
Travel experience required
Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
Epic experience preferred
Skilled in emergency care across pediatrics, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, cardiac, and orthopedic patient populations
1 professional reference required
Responsibilities
Emergency Department setting, combined Adult/Pediatric
Level I Trauma Center with STEMI and Stroke certification
Average patient ratio of 1:6
Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
Every other weekend required
No on-call requirements
Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
Open to block scheduling
Assigned to one campus with possibility of rotating to other campuses
Travelers do not staff trauma/rescue rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health units
Epic charting system used
Provide emergency nursing care across a broad range of acute and trauma presentations including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and behavioral health cases
Royal blue scrub color required
RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
Local candidates not accepted; candidates within 75 miles of the facility are considered local
Former staff must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years before returning as a traveler
First-time travelers not accepted
Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemptions only
