Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring a CA RN license and at least 2 years of ER experience.

Requirements

Active CA RN license required

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

PALS certification required

NIHSS certification preferred

TNCC certification preferred

Minimum 2 years of ER experience required, 3 years preferred

Community hospital experience preferred

New travelers accepted if they have prior ED experience, 3 years preferred

Experience with a broad range of ED conditions including trauma, cardiac, neuro, respiratory, and pediatric emergencies

Responsibilities

General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients

Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours,

Weekend rotation required

No on-call requirements

Approximate patient ratio of 1:4

16-week assignment length

Provide direct patient care using the nursing process across assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Manage care for assigned patients and direct activities of ancillary staff

Work closely with nursing peers, physicians, and allied support services

Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and management of dysrhythmias

Experience with arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration preferred

Local candidates accepted at the local rate

Must reside within a 50-mile radius unless approved for travel rate

Returning staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler

Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract

Only 1 holiday may be requested off per contract, with holiday blackout dates including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
