Job description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 3x12 night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of emergency department experience and CA RN licensure.
Requirements
Active CA RN license
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (preferred), and TNCC
Minimum 2 years of ER experience required, 3 years preferred
Community hospital experience preferred
New travelers accepted if prior ED experience is present, 3 years preferred
Skilled in pediatric emergency care including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, respiratory infection, seizures, and related conditions
Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration preferred
Experience with cardiac monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
Experience with ortho trauma care
Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required
Responsibilities
Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric population
Patient ratio of 1:4
Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours,
Weekend rotation required
No on-call requirement
Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
Manage care of assigned patients and direct activities of ancillary staff
Work collaboratively with nursing peers, physicians, and allied support services
Holiday coverage required for one of the following: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day
Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at the local rate
Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
First-time travelers considered with prior ED experience
