Job description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a NJ or compact license and at least 1 year of critical care, cardiac, or ED experience.
Requirements
Active NJ or compact RN license required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
PALS certification required for pediatric ER only
Minimum 1 year of experience in Critical Care, Cardiac, or Emergency Department nursing
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital Emergency Department setting
12-hour PM shifts, 3 days per week, totaling 36 hours weekly (7p-7a)
Floating to a sister hospital nearby as needed
No on-call requirements
EPIC EMR charting used
Perform comprehensive patient assessments across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric
Deliver competent clinical care including use of emergency equipment and procedures
Maintain accurate and complete nursing documentation including patient education
Follow National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and 2-patient identifier verification
Use safe patient transfer techniques and proper body mechanics
Support perioperative and Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) functions as needed
Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from the initial start date before requiring a break
