Job description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring NC or compact RN license and 2+ years of ER experience, with first-time travelers welcome to apply.
Requirements
Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
TNCC certification preferred
Epic EMR experience required
Prior charge nurse experience preferred
Experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, or Trauma Level I/II settings preferred
Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and ventilated patient care
Experience administering continuous IV sedation, vasopressors, and procedural sedation
Neurological care experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, and spinal cord/traumatic brain injury
Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and EKG testing
Experience with triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic trauma care
Responsibilities
General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients
1:5 patient ratio
Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Every other weekend required
Holiday coverage required (must work 2 of 4 holidays)
Floating required to any Cone Health campus as needed
STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
Treats trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and traumatic brain injuries
Epic EMR used
Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric trauma, cardiac, neurological, and orthopedic cases
Must pass a pass/fail EKG compliance exam with up to two attempts allowed
Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local rates apply
