Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a CA license for a night shift travel position requiring critical care expertise.

Requirements

Active CA RN license required

BSN required

Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (hard stop requirement)

Experience with IV therapy, arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines

Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory therapies (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ETT/NT suctioning)

Experience with titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and paralytics

Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure

Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management

Experience with CVA/acute stroke management

Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and hemodialysis preferred

Experience with IV insulin protocols

Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Responsibilities

ICU setting within a hospital

Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30)

Every other weekend requirement

On call/call off based on census

Uses Epic charting system

Provide direct critical care nursing to ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention

First-time travelers may be considered if minimum requirements are met

Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius

Returning employees/travelers must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler

Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract

Only one holiday request approved per contract, including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day

Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing

All compliance documents due 10 days prior to start date

7-year work history verification required for all candidates
