Job description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.
Requirements
Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) in hand at time of consideration
Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (NCC C-EFM acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
Skilled in IV starts, phlebotomy, and administration of blood/blood products
Experience with central line maintenance (CVC/PICC) preferred
Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted
Responsibilities
Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
May be required to float to other units
Epic EMR experience required
Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
Support high-risk antepartum patients and assist with neonatal care in the delivery room
Perform fetal monitoring, including EFM and IUPC placement/calibration
Assist with C-section circulation and recovery, and manage epidural pain protocols
Administer medications such as Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate therapy
Facility manages a high-volume delivery caseload
Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
Former employees eligible for travel assignment only after 6+ months away from the facility
Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel assignments
RTO must be requested at time of submission and built into contract, limited to 7 days or less
Previous travel experience preferred but not required
