Job description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring at least 2 years of experience and an active SC or compact RN license.
Requirements
Active RN license (SC or Compact)
Current certifications: BLS (AHA only) and NRP (AHA only)
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
Responsibilities
Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital environment
Night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30
13-week assignment
Scheduled 3 12-hour shifts per week plus 4 12-hour call shifts within a 6-week period
Float to similar units as needed
Assess patient needs based on history, observation, physical examination, and diagnostic data
Provide age-specific nursing interventions consistent with the plan of care and standards of practice
Foster an environment of caring, compassion, and respect for patients, families, and visitors
Utilize appropriate health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff
Contribute to department performance through precepting and mentoring novice employees
Participate in hospital-system initiatives and evidence-based nursing practices
Demonstrate continued professional growth through goal setting and educational offerings
