Job description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and a CO or compact RN license.
Requirements
Active RN license (CO or compact) currently in hand
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
Preferred certification: AWHONN Advanced
Required experience with Epic charting system
Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
Skilled in labor and delivery management including vaginal and high-risk deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery, and forceps/vacuum extraction
Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
Experience caring for patients with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and preterm labor
Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
Postpartum care experience including couplet care, hemorrhage management, and lactation support
Responsibilities
Labor and Delivery unit within a Birthing Center, part of a facility delivering 100-200 babies per month
16 staffed beds with a 1:3 patient ratio
Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00) with various days of the week
Required to work every third weekend
On-call requirements per unit needs
Floating required within scope, including to sister facilities within the North region as needed
Uses Epic charting system
Facility has earned Magnet designation four times, recognizing excellence in nursing practice
Navy blue scrub color required
Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum care including antepartum monitoring, neonatal care in the delivery room, and pain management support
Completion of all facility-specific modules required within the first week of assignment
Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during peak seasonal dates
No blocked scheduling requests permitted
First-time travelers accepted if experience requirements are met
Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates must disclose this information
Returning travelers who completed a full year on assignment may not be rebooked for at least one year
Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are accepted
