Travel RN – Labor & Delivery (L&D) | Watsonville, CA
Location: Watsonville, California
Modality: Labor & Delivery
Shift: Nights | 3x12s
Schedule: 36 hours/week
Join the compassionate and dynamic Labor & Delivery team at Watsonville Community Hospital , located in the beautiful Central Coast region of California. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Travel L&D Registered Nurse seeking to make a real impact in a supportive, patient-centered environment.
Overview
Under the direction of the Unit Director, Nursing Supervisor, and/or Charge Nurse, the Staff Nurse II (L&D) is responsible for providing safe, high-quality nursing care to patients and families throughout the childbirth process. This role encompasses patient assessment, labor support, delivery assistance, and postpartum care—ensuring the best outcomes for mothers and babies.
You’ll also have opportunities to mentor new staff, precept nursing students, and serve as a Relief Charge Nurse when assigned.
Education
• Must meet requirements set by the California Board of Registered Nursing
Experience
• Minimum 1 year of recent L&D experience in an acute care hospital
• Must complete hospital- and department-specific competencies within 3 months of hire
Licenses & Certifications
• Active California RN License (required)
• BLS (AHA) – required
• ACLS (AHA) – required prior to completion of orientation
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – required
• AFM (Advanced Fetal Monitoring) – required
Other Requirements
• Basic keyboarding skills and willingness to learn hospital computer systems within six months
• Fluent in English ; Spanish language skills preferred
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills
