Job description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a 6-bed unit requiring NC or compact RN licensure and the ability to circulate for C-sections and triage OB patients.
Requirements
Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
ACLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
NRP certification required
NIHSS certification required
Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
Minimum one year of nursing experience required
5 years of L&D experience highly preferred
Must be able to circulate for C-sections and triage OB patients
Responsibilities
Work in a 6-bed Labor & Delivery unit with one C-section OR
Unit averages 100 deliveries monthly, collaborating with OBGYNs and midwives
Manage laboring patients, circulate and assist in C-sections, and recover both labor and surgical patients
Night shift, 7:00pm-7:00am, 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week
Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) required
No on-call responsibilities
Epic EMR experience required
Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
Coordinate patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
Participate in patient/family education and discharge planning
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
Engage in unit performance improvement activities and cost-effective care practices
